About the Artwork
“Easter(1932)” by Augusto Giacometti is a beautiful and vibrant print that would make a great addition to any art collection. The print features three colorful Easter eggs in a bowl, with a blue, purple, and yellow egg. The colors are bold and the brushstrokes are loose, giving the print a dreamy and impressionistic feel.
Augusto Giacometti (1877-1947) was a Swiss painter from Stampa, Graubünden, who was prominent as a painter in the Art Nouveau and Symbolism movements. He was one of the first abstract painters, for his work in stained glass, as a proponent of murals and a designer of popular posters. His epitaph reads “here lies the master of colour.”
