About the Artwork
John Woodhouse Audubon (1812-1862) was an American painter who was primarily a painter of wildlife, but also did some portraits and genre scenes of the westward migration.
His illustration of the “American Black Bear” is a beautiful and detailed piece that would make a great addition to any art collection. The illustration is part of the “The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America” and was created in 1845-1851. The color on this set is exceptional, and the condition of the plates remarkably fresh 2. The illustration captures the essence of the bear in a unique and engaging way, making it a true work of art. It’s a great way to add a touch of nature and beauty to your home or office decor.
